Progress isn’t a straight shot to the stars; it’s a spiral—a cosmic dance that loops through growth, decay, and renewal, each turn deepening our insight and expanding our reach. From forest fires to tech busts to personal struggles, cycles and fractals reveal a universe that thrives on repetition and adaptation. By embracing this, we trade the illusion of endless ascent for a richer truth: true advancement lies in revisiting the known with fresh perspective. This view redefines success. Setbacks become stepping stones; history becomes a mentor; time becomes a partner. As we spiral deeper—through markets, innovations, and our own lives—let’s stay curious, keep dancing, and honor progress not as a destination but as a journey of ever-unfolding depth.

Consciousness: The Art of Attention
November 28, 2024
Consciousness is more than what we see; it’s what we choose to look at and how we engage with it. Attention is not just a lens but also a tool for shaping the world around us. When directed deliberately, it becomes a source of power and possibility. In this way, exploring consciousness mirrors the systemic thinking central to Long Curiosity. Just as Bitcoin’s structure redefined trust, the structure of our attention redefines how we experience life. The more aware we become of what we give our focus to, the more we uncover the deeper layers of our existence. Perhaps the question is no longer what is consciousness, but what will we do with it?
Beautiful Money, Beautiful World
January 27, 2023
For architecture, the result is visibly obvious; we prioritise quarterly profit (to capture 'value' and survive in this fiat environment) at the expense of enduring beauty, which takes more time, consideration and effort to create. Consider the shoddy, uninspiring landscapes that developers have thrown up for the last 40+ years, all in the name of the quick sale. And now contrast with some of the Art Deco masterpieces that we still revere decades later. Is it just coincidence that the 1920s represented the last hoorah of the gold standard, and the start of our path towards flimsy money?
Welcome to the Twenty First Century
August 24, 2020
I don’t know exactly how this all plays out. What I do know is that the world we’re stepping into is radically different from the one we knew. As we wave goodbye to the 20th century, we enter a new era — one of decentralized networks, personal sovereignty, and self-determined futures. We’re no longer tethered to the old systems. We’re free to explore new ways of working, living, and interacting with each other. The tools we use — from Bitcoin to personal infrastructure — are just the beginning. The real power lies in how we choose to engage with them. The 21st century is a time for exploration, creativity, and growth. It’s up to us to seize it.So, welcome to the 21st century. The future is now, and it’s decentralized. The tools are at our disposal. Let’s get cracking.
