Progress isn’t a straight shot to the stars; it’s a spiral—a cosmic dance that loops through growth, decay, and renewal, each turn deepening our insight and expanding our reach. From forest fires to tech busts to personal struggles, cycles and fractals reveal a universe that thrives on repetition and adaptation. By embracing this, we trade the illusion of endless ascent for a richer truth: true advancement lies in revisiting the known with fresh perspective. This view redefines success. Setbacks become stepping stones; history becomes a mentor; time becomes a partner. As we spiral deeper—through markets, innovations, and our own lives—let’s stay curious, keep dancing, and honor progress not as a destination but as a journey of ever-unfolding depth.

Highway to the Metaverse
June 16, 2021
The digital arena has become far more interesting. Much like a developed country offers property rights via law and order, metaverse platforms can offer property rights through code. And with rights we acquire value. With value we attract motivation. To build. To sell. To buy. To cooperate. To do anything. It begins to sound much more like a functioning economy rather than a mere game.

A Very Public Rebute
June 12, 2021
In writing to build, I mentioned about 'seeing the world as it is, and not as it ought to be'. What a crock of shit. That is not building better. Or thinking better. It is certainly not progression. By limiting myself to what I can observe only in the here and now, I deny myself the joy of dreaming. And as an eternal optimist, that just ain't gonna cut it.

A Brief Interlude
June 8, 2021
What you are witnessing here is a classic case of 'do as I say, not as I do'. A timely lesson, I suppose; I clearly have much to learn from my own writing. Hence my internal audit. That may take a few more days however, so do bear with me. In the meantime I will splurge more nonsense (in total contradiction to pursue quality over quantity). A good mental clearout, I'm tellling myself. For your reading pleasure.

Friday Reflections, Volume XIII

As my writing improves I feel more confident to take on subjects that have always truly interested me. Markets. Finance. Politics. People. I won't pretend to be a technical analyst or policy geek. I'll leave that to the real experts. Instead, I'll be interweaving the big themes. By knowing how the cogs turn we can master the machine.

Writing To Build
June 1, 2021
If I am no longer writing to heal, then what the hell am I writing about? The answer has literally just popped into my head, travelled down my arms, exited via my fingers, and arrived onto my keyboard. It seems so obvious now. This is being filmed live, unscripted and in full technicolour, folks. I am documenting my own journey to a much better place.

Friday Reflections, Volume XII

This site creates a cosmic flywheel. It generates an energy and motivation that is now spilling over into other parts of my life. Until very recently I utterly cherished the limited time I had to write. I'd wrap up a post with a sigh, knowing I had to return to a tired, greying corporate world. It felt like my real life extended to only 30% of my waking hours. Now I bring the colour of creativity into all parts of my day.

Splendid Grandeur
May 27, 2021
We really missed a trick by discarding centuries of tradition for top down planning and Starchitects. To be fair, the trauma of two world wars provided ample justification for doing so. But after a few decades of building motorways, shopping arcades and suburbia, I believe we are at an inflection point.
